Happy Delusion.

I woke up with all these funny feelings. Thinking about how I paint this picture of what's going on around me and then wondering if it had any place in reality. But then I got to thinking how reality doesn't exist to anything, it must be all subjective. In that case, does it matter if you live in a delusion or does it only matter that you are happy in your delusion? What happens when your happy delusion starts to break apart piece by piece and whatever reality you were living in changes?

I think that just happened. Do what we do best? Adapt and love as much as constantly as you can. I hope. At least in this reality.

Life is a constant struggle, almost never easy, never the same, always changing. Understand that HAPPINESS is only a state of mind that we have to choose to possess and carry as we travel along the road of life. To think that life should be happy is a mistake. We need to make the choice to BE happy within our lives. Life IS good! :-) I love you Sammie!

Reality is.

Our reactions to it are subjective.

A blind man touches an elephant's trunk and sees a rope. That elephant is as much itself as it ever was, and if it tries to step on him, unless he moves, he will die. He might have had a great time touching the trunk, enjoying it's feel, but he'll be just as dead unless he learns to move.

"In that case, does it matter if you live in a delusion or does it only matter that you are happy in your delusion?"

Living in a delusion will always bite you eventually. Let go of the need to be totally right to be totally at peace and you'll appreciate that it's the sting of errors that can guide us towards what we need. The perils of the cave can seem pretty awful as you make your way out of it, but remember that they only seem so because you can finally see them in the light, and to move around them.

" What happens when your happy delusion starts to break apart piece by piece and whatever reality you were living in changes?"

Learn your lessons, as honestly as you can. Don't shit yourself, but don't shit on yourself. Learn to appreciate that reality is the way it is, for good or for ill, but that even within a universe we can't control, our reactions to it are still ours alone. Nabokov got it.

You only ever have part of the picture. Stay curious.
